From the moment our founder first stepped into a restaurant, he knew this world was his calling. He spent his entire life working in restaurants: bussing tables, waiting on guests, and learning every corner of the industry, all while quietly nurturing a dream that one day, it would all be his own.

That day came when an opportunity appeared. With nothing guaranteed and everything to lose, he took the leap, backed by the unwavering support of his family. He opened the doors under the name El Zorrito, pouring everything he had into every plate, every table, every guest. In 2009, the restaurant found its forever name: El Zarape Mexican Restaurant.

More than 15 years later, El Zarape is still standing, not because of luck but because of love. Love for authentic Mexican food, love for this community, and love for the family that risked it all together. Today the restaurant is proudly owned and operated by him and his family, the same way it has always been: with heart, hustle, and a plate of food that makes you feel at home.
